# CIHRS Starts Political Rights Workshop on Sunday

The Human Rights Education Program at the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies is resuming its activities on Sunday 6 March, with the start of a six days Advanced Political Rights Workshop, targeting a distinct group of 20 university students.

The workshop comes at an important historical moment for Egypt, amidst the events of the Egyptian Revolution and during the transitional period which will outline Egypt’s political future with the help of public political participation, particularly youths who are the most important driving force of the current political scene. The Workshop focuses on political rights as framed by International Human Rights Law, as well as the Egyptian legislative system and the role of the Egyptian People’s Assembly and discusses political participation and the role of youth in the next phase.
