FULL TIME JOB VACANCY

JOB TITLE: ARAP Associate

PROGRAM: Arab Regional Advocacy Program (ARAP)

LOCATION: Tunisia

Objectives

  • Facilitate work flow within the program
  • Ensure an appropriate coordination between the offices and the headquarters
  • Ensure the implementation of the work plans and the continuous development of the programs through assisting in evaluation and monitoring
  • Facilitate work between the program and CIHRS’ administration
  • Be responsible for organizational/logistical side of planning events and activities
  • Maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation and filing for the program
  • Assist ARAP staff with other tasks as necessary

Tasks

  • Developing a filing system to maintain the “program’s memory”, in coordination with ARAP staff, and maintain it up-to-date;
  • Updating all of ARAP’s databases (email groups, resources, participants, etc.);
  • Assisting the research unit in research tasks;
  • Fulfilling precise research assignments to assist country researchers and advocates in different offices of CIHRS;
  • Assisting in program management tasks when assigned;
  • Coordinating meetings and activities; updating program’s calendar; writing minutes of meetings when requested;
  • Organizing training courses, lectures, conferences of the program (including through phone calls, hotel reservation, hall rental, food arrangements, transportation, badges, participants’ confirmation, list of participants, supervising photocopy of materials and preparing them, etc.) ;
  • Providing assistance in administrative and financial aspects related to events’ participants;
  • Providing logistical and administrative support to the program staff (booking tickets, hotel reservation, etc.);
  • Studying prices of goods and services in the light of budgets, in consultation with the financial and administrative directors;
  • Making sure all related expenses are in accordance with the budget;
  • Ensuring payment of all financial obligations of the program in coordination of the financial and administrative directors;
  • Cooperating with the financial director to issue the financial reports of the program;
  • Ensuring proper translation of materials, including translating or reviewing them if needed;
  • Collecting data and performing research if needed;
  • Preparing reports and coordinating their submission with the programs development unit.

Requirements

  • Excellent English and Arabic language skills;
  • A university degree;
  • Ability to conduct research tasks;
  • Experience working in similar positions highly preferred;
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience in filing systems;
  • Excellent communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships;
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to adapt to emerging issues and changing priorities;
  • Willingness to work extra hours on occasion, sometimes during weekends, for overtime pay as the need arises;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Experience in human rights issues preferred;
  • Creative, diplomatic, and good fantastic interpersonal skills;
  • Details oriented;
  • Computer skills using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power point, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases;
