**THE PRICE OF DISSENT:**
HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF 
PRO-DEMOCRACY DEMONSTRATIONS IN 
**SYRIA**

As peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations continue in Syria, a panel of Syrian human rights defenders will discuss the brutal government crackdown on protesters, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrest, torture in detention, and the expectations of Syrian civil society from the international community
