The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) in cooperation with its member organisation in Egypt ,The Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS), held a public meeting for EMHRN’s Working Group on Migration and Asylum, in order to discuss the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Egypt.The meeting was held at Shepheard Hotel in Cairo on Friday , the 20th of October 20007.
The Meeting discussed 4 pillars; the general situation of migrants and asylum seekers in Egypt,follow up to the accident of the death of 29 sudanese migrants in Cairo ( December 2005) while they were forced to apart from Mostafa Mahmoud Square in Mohandeseen, the Causes and Consequences of migration of asylum seekers to Israel, and the role and activities of UNHCR in Cairo.
