A project for constitutional reform in Egypt

In Books by CIHRS

Presented by: Dr. M. El Sied Saeed (2004)
This book tackles the issue of constitutional reform, which is still the subject matter of a hot debate in the Egyptian political life. The researcher considers that the best starting point in the comprehensive political and constitutional reform is focusing on what he called “the democratic plight”, represented by the amendment of only two articles in the current constitution, which are article 76 and article 77 from the 1971 constitution (amended in 1980), as a first stage that we have all, as political and intellectual forces from all spectrums, to accept in order to clear the way for a bigger reform in the seen future covering other several problematic articles forthcoming.
